Voices newest intern

Summer Wiggins, the newest Voices for Ohio’s Children intern, is a junior at Case Western Reserve University. Summer was placed at Voices via the Schubert Center for Childhood Studies’ Mann Child Policy Externship program. Originally from New Athens, Ohio (a very small town in south eastern Ohio), Summer is majoring in psychology and sociology, with a minor in childhood studies and a pre-law professional track. At Voices, she will spend the majority of her time working on Juvenile Justice and Youth Development policy work, in addition to the relevance of child abuse and neglect within these issue areas. With a strong passion for improving the lives of youth affected by abuse and neglect, Summer realizes that today’s youth need help in numerous areas, and she understands that most policy issues and problem areas are interconnected. Summer is very excited to spend her time improving the futuristic possibilities of youth involved with the juvenile justice system.
