Celebrating Champions for Children
Voices for Ohio's Children held its annual breakfast fundraiser on May 16, 2008 at Windows on the River in Cleveland. With over 400 in attendance, the event raised nearly $82,000 from corporations, individuals and partners to benefit Voices’ work in advocating for public policy that improves the well-being of Ohio’s Children and their families. |

Growing research has demonstrated the importance of out-of-school time, which can be up to 80% of a young person’s waking hours. Parents, educators, employers, public safety officials, providers, members of the faith community, philanthropists, and public officials are among those who are working to ensure that all children have access to high-quality and affordable afterschool and summer programs when they are not in school and their parents are working or in school themselves; often up to 20 hours each week during the school year and 55 hours during school breaks. |
