Center for Children and Families analysis of President's SCHIP proposal

As you may know, President Bush released his proposed 2009 Federal Budget on February 4, 2008. Unfortunately, the Administration's budget proposal would effectively eliminate SCHIP coverage for children above 250 percent of the FPL and make it very difficult, if not impossible, for states to cover uninsured children between 200 percent and 250 percent of the federal poverty level. At a time when the economy is weakening and the number of uninsured children is growing, this proposal moves in the wrong direction for Ohio's and America's families.

The Center for Children and Families has released an analysis of the President's SCHIP proposal within the 2009 budget. We will need to work together to maintain Congress' strong support for SCHIP and ensure that none of these harmful policies are adopted
