Green Statement

As a child advocacy organization, Voices for Ohio’s Children understands that reducing our impact on climate change is an essential act of advocacy for our children and generations of children to come. During 2007-2008, Voices commits to:
- Increasing the use of recycled paper for all of our publications
- Reduce paper consumption by increasting utilization of internet-based communications
- Printing and copying on both sides of paper
- Instituting a paper, plastic, and aluminum can recycling program
- Utilizing internet-based meeting technologies and video conferencing to decrease the reliance of employees, volunteers and program participants on car travel to participate in our programs
- Instituting a policy of energy-efficient car rentals
- Posting an environmental change statement on our website
- Turning off lights whenever we leave a room
- Keeping a scrap box of draft paper so that both sides of paper can be used
- Replacing old computers with energy efficient notebooks
- Switching off copier and computers every evening.
Although we rent our offices in both Cleveland and Columbus and are therefore not able to consider some building-related energy efficiency measures, we will continue to seek opportunities to implement additional measures to reduce climate change, and welcome the advice and assistance of The George Gund Foundation in this area.
