Children’s Health Insurance Passes with Bipartisan Support--Brown Launches Campaign against Bush Veto Threat
Program Covers More Than 218,000 Ohio Children – Legislation Would Add 79,000 More

As the Children’s Health Insurance Program legislation works its way through Congress with bipartisan support, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) will begin a statewide campaign against the President’s veto threat. More than 218,000 Ohio children and 6.6 million kids nationally are currently enrolled in the Children’s Health Insurance Program; however, 79,000 more children in Ohio could be covered by this legislation.
