Cleveland State - Marketing Communications Representative

Deadline: April 28, 2008

Supports and works closely with colleges, divisions, and departments in developing strategic communication and marketing plans that advance the goals of the client organization and the University. Acts as project manager for assigned internal clients, driving projects from start to finish, including project management, background research, writing, event coordination, art direction, distribution and ongoing follow-up. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Three to five years experience in a broad range of marketing communication areas, including public relations, advertising, marketing, collateral materials and research. Experience planning and developing major promotions, programs and marketing campaigns. Must possess excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in operating personal computer software, desktop publishing programs and applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Cleveland Foundation - Program Director for Economic Development

The program director for economic development holds overall responsibility for the Cleveland Foundation’s efforts to address creatively the Greater Cleveland area’s economic challenges and opportunities, and for recommending and implementing ideas that will contribute to the economic growth of the area. The director reports to the senior vice president for programs and evaluation (SVPE) and will be a key member of the senior program team at the Cleveland Foundation. The director will also work closely with the program director for neighborhoods and housing, the director of special projects, the BP fellow for energy and environmental advancement, and the director of globalization and international attraction. The director will be active and visible in Greater Cleveland and will collaborate with senior leadership from many different private, public, and philanthropic sector organizations.

Cleveland Foundation - Program Officer

The program officer position is designed to circulate talent, ideas, perspectives, and experiences in and out of the foundation and the nonprofit sector. It is, therefore, term-limited in nature (three to five years). Program officers report to the director of community responsive grantmaking and are responsible for meeting with prospective grantees and evaluating funding proposals.

Spaces - Executive Director

SPACES, Ohio’s oldest and largest nonprofit, alternative gallery seeks an experienced professional to serve as executive director and build on the excellent reputation of this nationally recognized organization. Located in downtown Cleveland, SPACES was founded in 1978 to advance the artist’s vision by providing freedom, resources and an audience so artists can engage the public in a vital dialogue about contemporary art. SPACES is an artist-centered organization that has presented work by more than 9,000 artists in the visual and interdisciplinary arts, to an audience of more than 850,000. Each year the gallery produces 4-5 major exhibitions with several additional exhibitions, and hosts the SPACES World Artists Program (SWAP) residencies. Its SPACElab program, a series of smaller experimental exhibitions, allows artists and students to create short-term projects. Including the Executive Director, SPACES employs six full-time staff members and has an operating budget of approximately $500,000. A board of diverse individuals, half of whom are artists, provides oversight and assists with direction of the organization. The board also includes curators, architects, art historians, lawyers, financial analysts and other professionals.

Gar Foundation - Program Officer

The Foundation advances its strategic priorities through the grants it makes to its grantees, through its convening activities in the community, and through the gathering and dissemination of information around priority areas. The Program Officer plays a critical role in executing the Foundation's strategies by examining and evaluating potential grantee organizations and grants and recommending those grants that have the greatest chance of most effectively advancing the Foundation's priorities. John Carroll Universtiy - Assistant Director of Annual Giving

The Assistant Director is responsible for developing, managing, and organizing specific programs and activities related to The Carroll Fund and the Office of Annual Giving. This position has primary responsibility for the in-house student phone solicitation program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the student calling center (SCC). Hire/train/supervis e staff of students. Provide on-sight supervision of SCC. Maintain the SCC and organize and maintain alumni data for calling and gift processing. Additional responsibilities include identifying an optimal phoning schedule, designing and presenting effective training and motivation strategies, and implementing a successful solicitation campaign.
  • Serves as staff liaison for two or more reunion classes. Train volunteer reunion gift chairs, coordinate class letter/newsletters, and communicate regularly with alumni volunteers about University and Reunion Weekend via mail, email, phone, and personal visits. Coordinate transition of and recruit new gift chairs as needed.
  • Coordinate the Senior Legacy Program (senior class gift) and, with the Office of Alumni Relations, advise the student steering committee and core volunteers. This includes recruitment, selection, training, and motivation of volunteers; project organization; budgeting; solicitation and event scheduling and planning.
  • Assists with and attends on-campus weekend events including, but not limited to: Parents Weekend, Alumni Mass & Breakfast, Homecoming Weekend, Magis Mass & Breakfast, and Reunion Weekend.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned and assists in the day to day activities of The Office of Annual Giving as needed. Working hours: This is a full-time administrative position. When the SCC is in operation, normal working hours are Sunday: 3:00 – 6:30 pm, Monday-Thursday: noon – 9:30 pm, Friday and Saturday are the weekend days off. When the SCC is closed (student breaks, summer break, etc.) the working hours will revert to the standard university hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm.


UHCAN Ohio - Field Director

The overall goal of the Field Director (FD) is to expand OCHC’s grassroots efforts so that OCHC becomes the state’s lead advocate for health care consumers that is effectively shaping the debate about how to expand health care coverage to more Ohioans. Dress for Success - Program Services Coordinator

SUMMARY

This position oversees all aspects of the dressing program. The Program Services Coordinator has three major responsibilities. These include managing the volunteer staff so that clients are well served, scheduling of client appointments for both first and second dressing appointment through Registrar and maintain the boutique so proper inventory is available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit, train, and motivate volunteer staff.
  • Host volunteer orientations every 3rd Thursday of each month.
  • Manage and properly utilizing volunteers time.
  • Maintain an accurate and adequate running inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and inventory for the boutique and related areas.

  • Develop and maintain ongoing communications with agencies to ensure we are serving all eligible women to the dressing program.
  • Track client services.
  • Contribute to quarterly newsletter.
