The Champion for Children Award Celebration is a breakfast event held on Friday, May 16th from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m at Windows on the River.

Keynote Speaker: Frances Strickland, First Lady of Ohio
This year we are thrilled to announce that Frances Strickland, First Lady of Ohio, will be featured as the keynote speaker. Frances has a vision for a better future for Ohio with thousands of people across the state. Often seen brandishing her guitar and leading the crowd in a singalong, Frances brings an irreplaceable creativity and enthusiasm to her work for Ohio. With a doctorate in psychology, Frances devoted herself to a career as an educational psychologist. She has authored a widely-used screening test for kindergarten-age children. Frances has also authored a children's book, The Little Girl Who Grew Up To Be Governor.
The 2008 Champion for Children Awardees: Jim Mason and Allan Krulak
Allan and Jim will receive the 2008 Champion for Children Award. Both Jim and Allan have been dedicated Board Members for four years.
Special Guest: William Bentley
Bill is President & CEO of Voices for America's Children and will be joining us. Improving the lives of young people has been a consistent theme throughout Bill's career, from his first job in juvenile justice to his volunteer work as a board member of CampFire USA.
